Year in Review

At the beginning of my second year at Ohio State, I did not expect to join any new organizations or clubs on campus. I was already involved in Business Scholars and Sustained Dialogue, and I did not want to spread myself too thin. Joining a business fraternity was never quite on my radar, but one afternoon a friend of mine named Drew told me about the new business fraternity on campus that he was heavily involved in. I was impressed by how passionate he seemed about this new organization in Fisher so I decided to go to an info session.

At this first info session for Phi Gamma Nu I fell in love with the organization’s purpose and all the people who were a part of it. I decided that semester to join Phi Gamma Nu and see what opportunities I could gain out of it. I was once again reminded of how busy my schedule was going to be but decided to follow through with it anyways.

Being apart of Phi Gamma Nu during my second year at Ohio State has taught me so much and has given me experiences I will never forget. One of my most cherished parts of joining Phi Gamma Nu is the friendships I have made. Going into my second year I was nervous that I would not be able to make many new friends, as most people already have their groups chosen, but being a new and small Fisher organization, it has given us all the opportunity to get to know one another personally. I have also grown both professionally and personally in this organization. The members of Phi Gamma Nu push each other to be the best people they can be, in and outside the business world. I have been given the opportunity to attend a business trip to Chicago where I was able to network with exciting companies and grow my understanding of business fields that interest me.

Overall, Phi Gamma Nu has given me endless opportunity to attain personal and professional growth through a variety of experiences. At the beginning of this journey, I thought the time commitment would be too strenuous, but being around people who make everything enjoyable has made the time fly by. I hope to continue this journey through the next two years at Ohio State and I am excited to see both my growth within the organization and the growth of Phi Gamma Nu on this campus.
