As a lifelong learner, I view the world as my classroom and challenge myself to learn something new everyday, no matter how big or small. For a large portion of my life I have enjoyed studying the many disciplines of science, particularly the branches of Natural and Life Sciences. I received my BS in Biological Sciences from Bowling Green State University and received my MA in Biological Sciences from Kent State University. For 13 years I worked in the BSCI Department at KSU where I worked as the Senior Advisor for the Biological Sciences majors, specifically the pre-professional track. Almost 4 years ago, I relocated to the Columbus area with my family to begin my role as the Program Manager for the Health Sciences Scholars at the Ohio State University. I thoroughly enjoy the many of roles and responsibilities as the Program Manager for the Health Sciences Scholars because I truly love the journey of working with my students. From the beginning of their undergraduate careers, I help them integrate their personal interests and character strengths, giving them the latitude to discover a path to a fulfilling career in the healthcare world. I encourage them to think outside the box in finding ways to make our world a better place. In the HSS program, I facilitate acceptance of all as we promote and support each other while serving our community. Personally, I enjoy the great outdoors, especially hiking, biking, and gardening. I am a self proclaimed foodie and herbal formalist where I create my own skin care products. If you see me on campus, please stop to say hello!
