Ziqi Li, PhD Student

Ziqi (Ashley) received a bachelor’s degree in Food Quality and Safety and graduated from Fudan University (China) with a master’s degree in Public Health in 2020. Her research experiences range from characterizing paralytic shellfish poisoning toxins and disinfection by-products by utilizing high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrum, to identifying urinary 8-oxo-7,8-dihydro-2’-deoxyguanosine and 8-oxo-7,8-dihydroguanosine which are biomarkers for DNA and RNA oxidative damage, and to discovering the relationship between ingestion and health. She hopes to use innovations to address challenges on food and human health.
