Melissa Solano, B.S., 2018

Originally from Lima, Peru, Melissa graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2014. She soon discovered the important role of food in our health and followed her call for human nutrition studies. She joined the Kopec Lab in Fall 2017 to pursue her interest in nutrition research in order to impact human health. Melissa’s project aimed to identify the effects of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on chemotherapy related cognitive side-effects. Melissa is currently working towards a master’s degree in Allied Medicine and is part of the Coordinated Medical Dietetics program in the College of Medicine.
