The two topics that the team decided to research were motor configuration and coasting vs. power braking. Researching these two areas will maximized the energy efficiency used by the motors and help the AEV stop when needed. Making a more energy efficient AEV also means making a more cost efficient AEV. Improving the stopping method of the vehicle will lead to a model that is accurate in it’s runs and very unlikely to cause a safety violation. This research now makes the AEV more marketable because it can be operated at a low cost to the buyers and have a low safety risk.
