PR:

Audience- companies of Easton and Polaris, customers that will be riding the vehicle

Needs of customers- safe transportation, affordable to use and install, energy efficient, no pollution or any other harm/danger to the surrounding areas, logistics all worked out (time, cost, where it runs, etc)

Plan- safe design (people can’t fall out, no parts are falling off the vehicle, etc), use as little energy as possible, aerodynamic (will be with our proposed part), little maintenance incorporated into the design

Problem 1: Fragile Wires

The wires connecting into the Arduino are fragile and have disconnected from the board two times over the span of five weeks. The cause of the wires disconnecting are unknown. Our team isn’t aware as to what is causing the wires to disconnect.

Our team would like to research different ways we can protect the wire connections into the Arduino, either using the existing body of the AEV to shield the connection ports or creating small parts to encase the ports at little to no cost.

As the weeks progress with the lab, the team will try a different way of encasing each week during the labs, or evaluate it during team meetings.

Problem 2: Battery Stability/Energy

The voltage of the battery seems unstable when we test the vehicle. This instability might randomly affect the performance of the vehicle when running.

This is the graph of Voltage of the battery vs. Distance of three sets of testing. The voltage changing dramatically when the vehicle run for a long distance.

A part of the reason might be the battery itself. To buy a better battery might be a good solution if we have an additional budget.

On the second hand, part of the reason might be the coding problem. Those sets of command might not be the most appropriate commanding style for this battery. Group members can gradually find out the best coding style for this type of vehicle by a large number of testing.
