This video is from early performance tests, showing the AEV stopping between the gates, and accelerating through.
The Final AEV
Pictured above is the final AEV design for group R. We felt this design is exactly what we were looking for ever since the beginning of the project. The design meets all of the requirements set forward in the MCR, and ran with excellent efficiency and speed. We believe our AEV is the best prototype for the job for several reasons. First of all, the AEV is consistent, and well built. Very little questions are left unanswered as our AEV has been running in top shape for a number of weeks now. In addition, our AEV is hyper efficient, as it is lightweight, and requires a minimum amount of energy to power the AEV through the required course. The AEV is also quite durable, as it has had no problems at any point.
Graph For The Final Performance Test
The picture above shows the power vs time graph for the final run of our AEV. We have taken our data and compared it to other groups for their final tests, and found that our energy consumption of about 234.518 J is on par, or lower than almost every other group. We feel strongly about this because of how much attention we payed to the coasting vs power braking decision.
