Coming into college, it can all be rough at first especially when you don’t have the right tools to help you learn or study and manage your time the right way. At the end of the day, it is all about priorities. If you make the time for what you want to make time for then you can do and learn anything as long as you have the right tools to help guide you along the way. It is best to start all of the little learning strategies as soon as possible and that way; it will help prepare you for college sooner.
As far as time management, there are many things that can be done to make sure that you stay on top of your work and have time for every task without ever missing a deadline. A great tool to help manage your time is a, to do list. A to do list can be made to organize your schedule in order of deadlines and priorities. The key is to just make sure that you look at your to do list every day, multiple times a time to make sure that you have all of your work in order and everything is on time. Another tip is thinking about what is important to you. You really have to ask yourself do you want to be a successful student. You have to ask yourself are you really willing to give up the things you want to do so that you can complete the things that you need to do. Do you want to do work now and have fun later longer? Many students say that they do but it is actually really hard to follow through with all of this. If you want to start seeing success and progress then everything will work out perfectly.
One tip that gets over looked a lot is the amount of sleep that you get. You may have gotten all your work done early or you may not have any work and you might want to go out with some friends and have fun or you might want to stay up and watch a movie or television. This is all fine unless you have something that you need to get done early for the next day. If you have to wake up early in the morning to get some work done and that “fun time” is going to interfere with your work then it is best that you just hold it off until next time. I cannot stress it enough that you get the proper amount of sleep or else you will not be able to function to the best of your abilities for the next day. It is crucial that you get anywhere from eight to ten hours of sleep a night, if not then you are just hurting yourself.
When looking at the complete picture, college is actually easy as long as you do what you are supposed to do without procrastination. Just stay on top of your work and college will be a breeze!
