Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness:

I plan to take several comparative studies on the history of economics in other cultures. In doing this I hope to understand better the history of other natures and ultimately understand why each economy is the best choice for today’s nations. Also, I am planning on taking a study abroad in a may-mester, preferably in a Spanish speaking country to practice my fluency.

Original Inquiry:

Firstly, I plan to take several courses in the 5000’s within CSE/ISE to have as much knowledge about computers as possible. I also want to consider research within topics I’m interested in. I have always been interested in data within medicine or sports.

Academic Enrichment:

I plan to take my academic plan and execute it because it serves my major. Also, there are several courses that I took that will keep me involved in several of my passions such as theatre, economics, and computer science. I am most excited about theatre because its always been a passion of mine and I’d like to learn more about how I can better my performances. My course selection also gives me a biological background in addition to the business specialization that I’ll have that will give me a small additional background in another specialization.

Leadership Development:

I am currently involved on the OSU Club Football team and am on the ballot for a leadership position, treasurer. I have also applied for several internships over the summer including, but not limited to, the CIA, J&J, and P&G. I want to be more involved in the BDAA. This will help me learn better ways to produce my work for the major.

Service Engagement:

I have volunteered to help with several football programs (camps) teaching children how to play football better or learn how to in general. I would like to learn more about opportunities on community clean-up.

Artifacts

[Artifacts are the items you consider to be representative of your academic interests and achievements. About Me

My name is Kevin Knippenberg. I am currently pre-major in Data Analytics. I enjoy math, cse and other sciences. I, however, do not enjoy reading books very much, but would rather read informative articles or research papers about topics I’m interested in. I am more of a hands on learner, meaning that I learn best by doing and practicing. I play club football at the OSU and enjoy playing racquetball and lifting weights in my free time. I am also a member of the BDAA (aka Big Data and Analytics Association of OSU).
