About Me

Hello! My name is Abigail Klein, and I just finished my sophomore year at The Ohio State University. My majors are now Pharmaceutical Sciences and German with a hopeful minor in neuroscience to come. I’m part of the Eminence Fellows, and I’m planning on graduating in 2021 (a year after most of the fellows in my year).

I’ve left my original post from last year up below, so keep scrolling to see some of my interests.

This year I’ve become very involved in DanceSport at OSU! That’s the ballroom dance team on campus. We compete all over the area, and we have classes every week that are open to everyone. If you’re interested at all, we’re always looking for new members. There is no dance experience required, we’ll teach you!

In addition to that, I also have a dog. She’s a 3-year-old standard poodle named Lola and I’ve had her for about a year.

Overall, the past year was successful, but difficult. I was a part time student for Spring semester to focus a bit more on my health and maintaining my genetic condition at a manageable level, but I’m hoping to come back with full force in Autumn.

I’m also going to Dresden this summer to obtain my proof of fluency certificate in German. This will hopefully open some doors for me to get internships or jobs in Germany in the future.

My advice for incoming freshman is probably something you’ve heard before, but try and realistically estimate how much time an extra-curricular will actually take you per week before you sign up! Think about how much time you need for you classes and estimate how much time you actually have for other stuff. Don’t over commit!

Future Eminence Classes: Don’t be afraid to reach out to me or the other upper class Fellows for help or advice when you need it!

Eminence

Hi everyone! My name is Abigail Klein, and I’m a current freshman at The Ohio State University. I’m one of the class of 2020 Eminence Fellows, and I’m planning on majoring in Chemistry and German.

Some of my interests include chemistry and German (of course!) as well as cats (petting cats, looking at cats, playing cat games), figure skating, piano, and learning things. I love talking to people, especially about school, cats (you guessed it!), and my boyfriend. I also love helping others learn too. If you ever have a homework question (preferably in chemistry, math or German) then I’m your girl.

My learning style is typically a lecture type setting. I like sitting in a room listening to a professor talk. I also learn well through reading and note-taking. In my four years I’d really like to accomplish my double major, study abroad, and do lots and lots of research to prepare me for my future. I’d really like to be a laboratory chemist and do research for the rest of my life. I’m also really hoping to make some really meaningful friendships that will last me a lifetime. Most of all, I want to be happy, healthy, and involved!
