About Me

“Look at usual things with unusual eyes.”~ Vico Magistretti. My name is Hannah King. Originally from Texas, I transferred here to Ohio State to study design. Prior to coming here, I had no idea what design was or what it would mean to study design as a major. After studying finance for years I reached out to AIMs testing to help me find a pathway that I felt excited to study. The results of three days worth of cognitive testing lead them to recommend that I look into design programs and Ohio State was my favorite one. Through out my life I have been a competitive dancer,  a theater tech team member, a high school early grad, a dance teacher, and now a perspective design student. Problem solving is something I have done in every aspect of my life that I just mentioned. I am a strong willed and determined individual with a love for understanding how things work and fixing the things that don’t work. When my kiddos in Houston struggle with new skills I learned to reverse engineer their struggles to help them break down the problem and overcome the difficulties. For me design about how we redirect a problem into a solution. I enjoy photography, crocheting, dancing, building, and theatrical workings. I am a quirky individual who is shy but playful. I have a bunny named Sushi and a wide range of hobbies which have lead me to this point. In the year I’ve been here I can see the growth from being a blank slate in terms of design to being excited to apply for internships and study this more. I am curious and eager and grateful to have this opportunity. I hope to meet you all soon!
