Project Statement
This project works to bring different aspects of the car community together in a collage type fashion with different pieces representing more than just one object. My goals were to be able to make individual parts come together and react with one another to make it feel whole while keeping a balance and creating a deep space. I also wanted to make sure that I chose the right values of paper for each layer to make the layering seem deeper. The outcome of the different layers turned out great and my idea of combing the different aspects together really worked well and was nicely balanced as a whole, the deep space aspect turned out okay and I know what I would do if I had to do it again to make the deep space really pop.

Reflection
I learned how to create layers on top of one another to make sure the layers beneath are shown and how to use them to create an interesting composition, how to make deep space especially using different values of layers, what not to do to avoid warping, Gestalt’s principles and technical cuts that need to be etched in certain areas in order to not detach from the rest of the layer. I overcame how to bring multiple ideas into an equation and have them play off of each other while maintaining balance and how to create layers that work together to show one piece for depth. I discovered that to show an object you can use another layer as the negative to create a new shape below. I also discovered how enjoyable the process of creating is when it’s a subject you have a strong passion for.
