My concept is called Sidewalk Metro Parks. On college campuses, many students go out Thursday nights and spend an enormous amount of money (that they don’t have) on drinks, partying and other costly social-like events. My campaign is to keep college student’s wallets full and provide an alternative that is fun, free and healthy by promoting them to visit Ohio’s local Metro Parks!
The student will easily be able to see the poster while walking on The Oval. All they have to do is scan the QR code with their mobile device and they will be directed to a map of all 15 Metro Parks. From there they can choose which one they want to go for the day. As easy as 1-2-3. Viewers also have the opportunity to learn more information about the Metro parks by going to their website (provided on the bottom of the poster).
To design this poster and input the QR code I used two programs. I used qrstuff.com to copy and paste Metro Park’s map URL to generate my code. Than I used pixlr.com to layout and combine my QR code into a poster format and place the poster on The Oval sidewalk. When designing the colors, font, and format of the poster. I wanted a simple, top-bottom readable poster. The background image of the tree is from Metro Parks website, which adds a nice added touch. Also, I included the Metro Parks to reinforce who provides the free park facilities and who sponsors the QR campaign. Furthermore, the colors I choose were to enhance the naturalistic setting for the poster, while also popping out the essential parts of the poster by using bright green.
