Social Event Reflection
This event was given to show us around in Columbus. Before going on this tour, I had not explored Columbus at all. I was nervous to go off campus and try to find things by myself. I chose to do this tour because I want to feel comfortable going off campus when I want to. I now feel like I do know where things are and I feel less afraid of going off campus to try new things.
This event is related to International Affairs because it shows us all of the opportunities that we have in Columbus to experience new cultures. I learned about German Village and many new, different restaurants that I am excited to try. I also learned some of the history of Columbus and Ohio State.
Personally, I benefited from this event because I now feel more comfortable going off campus. I was also able to meet more people in IA. Because I live on the 9th floor, it is sometimes hard to get to know other IA members. This event allowed me to talk with some of the other members from the 8th floor, which I normally don’t get to do.
Overall, I had a great time on the tour. I hope that I will be able to use the information I learned from this event in the near future. I hope to use all of the resources Columbus has available for me.
