Career

Through our assignments for HSS, I realized I wanted to go to PA school. Because of the vision for life assignment, I discovered that medical school probably wouldn’t be the best option for what I want. After describing the kind of career and life I want, being a medical doctor wouldn’t fit with that whereas a PA would give me the career I’m looking to have. I know there are several resources on campus to help me achieve my intended goal like joining a club or going to my advisor for help. My plan to keeping healthy is to balance school with health. I know not to let school and stress overtake everything else. I plan on getting a good amount of sleep at night and to not skip on any meals, and exercise regularly. I hope to be able to stick with this plan because I do tend to take school very seriously and can neglect my health sometimes, but there are so many resources on campus to help me keep that in check. Next semester I plan on taking the courses and actions I need to take to further my plan of getting into PA school, since I spent most of this semester deciding what I wanted to do. I can utilize upperclassmen who have the same career and life goals as me by asking for help on how to succeed, and other staff members who can help me get on the right path to becoming a physician’s assistant.

thompson This is the Thompson Library; it is my greatest resource on campus because its where I get most of my studying (and HSS homework) done. It’s the only place I can work without any distractions.

ouMy goal is to get into Ohio University’s Physician Assistant Program, mostly because it’s so close to my home and I can still be close to my family while in school.

famSpeaking of family, my family is so supportive of me and of the career I’ve decided on. They are always there for me when I need help and I know they’ll be there for me when I need help in the future.
