Big Assignment 2 Process

Due to depression and anxiety I am behind. I have had a hard time getting out of bed the last two weeks but I know what I want to do. I plan to connect my drawing of the neighborhood pond and the bottom on picture. It will look as if the floor turns into water. The above picture will be connected to a picture of my living room

Big Assignment Reflection

This project was very hard for me. I struggled with liquid media because I have never done it before and made several mistakes while doing it .  I tested the paint with the brushes on several sheets of paper  until I knew what the ink would look like. The critique helped me realize that less is more and thow to work with wet media. I do not like the way dots look together on a page with any other mark making. It looks best from me when it it by itself. Due to time I did not get much feedback from my classmates on what I could do better. Looking at some of my classmates projects helped me see how I should have done my original assignment. Seeing the basic lines and movement/ brush strokes helped me figure out how I want this one to look. I went outside my comfort zone by mixing different mark makings and in the end I did not like it. For this project I left the background white so it is easy for others to differentiate between the objects and the background. I added shadows to my drawing. I was originally was going to do it with charcoal because it is fun and easy to smear. Last second, I decided to push myself and use sharpie. I was worried about how it would fade and look at the end. The more I played around with it the more it started to look right. I moved the lighting because it seemed off in comparison to the real setting.
