64-bit TextPad handles big files nicely

Since I was first introduced to TextPad in college over ten years ago, it’s been my text editor of choice.  I’m sure there are better ones out there, but I’ve gotten so used to TextPad that I can get things done very quickly.  The features I use most are:

Today I learned some great news: there is now a 64-bit version of the software.  The one problem I always had with TextPad that if I ever tried to load a sizeable text file – say more than 100 MB or so, the software would start to choke.  I don’t know for sure if the move to 64-bit is what solved the problem, but now I can open and manipulate multi-gigabyte text files with no sweat.
