My first semester at Ohio State has been great. It has been filled with friends, football games, and unforgettable experiences. In August I was really nervous that college classes would be really hard and I would not have an easy time making friends, but it has been just the opposite. My grades remain strong and I am less stressed than I was in high school about schoolwork. In addition, I found a great group of friends that have allowed me to have a multitude of great experiences at OSU. I am extremely glad I was placed in the Humanities Scholars Program because majority of my friends are in Humanities as well. Also, it has allowed me to experience Columbus with them in order to gain my points for the semester. The Scholars Program has allowed me to form a close-knit community with people who I might not have met without being in the program. Next semester I plan on attending more Humanities events to help make my college experience memorable. In addition to participating next semester I want to continue to be a part of the group the remaining time I go to Ohio State. For example, sophomore year I want to become a mentor to help future freshman with their Ohio State experience and to ensure they are welcomed into the Humanities community. Being a Humanities Scholar has allowed me to have a great first semester at Ohio State and has allowed me to make new lifelong friends and experience unique adventures.
