Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

In the near future, I would like to study European culture on my own and dive in to a specific country’s heritage and history. Also, I would like to join Hillel or Chabad so I can have a Jewish connection when I am at Ohio State. At some point, it would be amazing to study abroad, I am not sure where I would want to go, but I would 100% consider going because I would learn so much about the country’s culture and see its similarities and differences in regards to the US. I am considering taking classes in the Honors Department either next semester or next year so I can have a more in-depth experience with my course work. I will have to talk to my counselor to see what the requirements are. Maybe going into my junior or senior year, it would be nice to do some research for a company, where I could use excel to calculate statistics and find valuable data! Either next semester or next year, I would like to take honors classes so I can get an enriched experience and dive into the content with seasoned professionals and have in-depth discussion. I need to find out what the requirements are and if I am eligible, but it has definitely caught my eye. When I graduate from OSU, I would like to have an honors diploma, that is something I am working towards receiving. I would like to join at least one or two clubs this year and get to know some of the members so I can further my extra-curricular experiences at Ohio State. At some point, it would be cool to be the president of a club or have a major position. I heard that BuckeyeThon is a great experience and something I can do to give back to the community and be with my friends as well. I would love to learn more about this opportunity and pursue it at some point! I would like to reach a certain amount of volunteer hours before I graduate. I have not set that number yet, but I do intend on volunteering all throughout college.

Artifacts

I interviewed Reilly, she is one of my two peer mentors. Reilly is a sophomore and she is originally from Dayton, Ohio. She is a neuroscience major with a pre-med track. Since she is intrigued in modern medicine, she is in the first-gen pre med club. She spends a lot of time studying but she says that it pays off because she loves the content and she cannot wait to enter the medical field! On top of that, she is a casual debate club which allows her to use her critical thinking skills and hone in on her public speaking skills. She thoroughly enjoys being in the Politics, Society, and Law Scholars and Off the Lake Productions. Lastly, she has a lot of student pride, she loves the Buckeyes!

About Me

I am Isaac Kantarovich and I am currently an undecided business major, yet I am highly considering accounting as my specialization. Academically, I enjoy math and the humanities. For this year, my goals are to: organize my notes and make a schedule, excel in my classes, and to get involved in a club. I love lifting weights and tracking my food intake. I am athletic, I like to play soccer, football, and basketball as well as watch them. I am always bumping my music (usually rap, R&B, or classic rock) whether I’m working out, driving, or hanging out with friends. I also enjoy playing the piano. During the quarantine, I have watched a ton of movies and explored many metroparks in my area. During the summer I love going to the beach, playing volleyball, and getting lots of sun.
