About Me

Hello! My name is Snigdha Kalluri and I am a first-year student majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I have always been interesting hands-on work and problem solving so I thought BME is the perfect way to combine that with my interest in being in the medical/ healthcare field. I hope to go on to grad school possibly studying biotechnology and eventually getting involved with the manufacturing of prosthetics.

Here at OSU, I am involved in SWE, or the Society of Woman Engineers, BMES, IAA, and Humanitarian Engineering scholars program. I would like to get more play more of an active role in all of these clubs as my time at OSU progresses so I can make an impact on the student body. Specifically, in SWE, I would like to reach out to girls who are younger and encourage them to pursue engineering and participate in the panels.  I would also like to get involved organizations that focus on volunteering. I love giving back to the community and I would enjoy being involved in service focused clubs, specifically those that implement a humanitarian aspect to engineering. With this experience,  I hope to travel abroad and make a true difference to those in need.

My top five strengths are:

1.Restorative – This means that I like to solve problems and find new ways to make things better. I always identify a problem, weigh out the pros and cons, and the most efficient solution that will benefit me most in the future.

2.  Woo – I love meeting new people and finding ways to connect with them. I love making conversations and learning about peoples’ lives and what makes them who they are.

3. Developer – I always see the positives in people as well as their potential to turn their weaknesses into strengths. Instead of finding what I don’t like about someone new I meet, I see what I do like and what makes them unique.

4. Includer – I am a strong believer that no one should be excluded no matter what their personal beliefs and values are. Everyone deserves to be a part of any community they choose and should be welcomed with open arms.

5. Positivity  – I always like to find the positives of any situations and keep everyone smiling. I love making people laugh or even just helping them have something to look forward to in their day.
