Meet the Team

Principle Investigator 

Jin Jun, PhD, RN is an assistant professor in the Center for Healthy Aging, Self-Management and Complex Care at the College of Nursing. Dr. Jun received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and Ph.D. from New York University. She also completed a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship in the National Clinician Scholars Program (formerly known as the Robert Woods Johnson Clinician Scholars Program) at the University of Michigan before joining The Ohio State University College of Nursing in 2020. Dr. Jun is interested in exploring the intersections of individual, community, and systems-level factors to clinicians’ well-being and developing a comprehensive intervention.

Research Coordinator

 

Priya Hall, CCRP and Research Coordinator, joined the lab in 2024 to work on the Support in Healthcare: Investigating Nursing assistants’ Needs Study, or The SHINNE Study. Priya is an experienced research coordinator, facilitating studies in disciplines including psychology, business, education, and nursing. She coordinates all aspects of the study and supports the onboarding and supervision of research assistants.

 

Graduate Students

Hyeyeon Shin is a second-year PhD Student and Graduate Research Assistant joined the lab in Fall of 2024. She has previously worked with pulmonary and infectious diseases as a Registered Nurse (RN) for over six years. While working, Hyeyeon earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Her research interests focus on caring for patients living with dementia and understanding the psychological health of both current and former caregivers. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and working out at the gym. After completing her PhD, she aspires to teach student nurses at her undergraduate university and continue her research on dementia.

Undergraduate Students 

Brenden Levey has been a part of the Jun Lab since the Fall of 2023. He is a fourth-year nursing student with an interest in research focused on burnout, death anxiety, and death self-efficacy. Through the Jun Lab, Brenden intends to create a better understanding of these variables in relation to entry level healthcare workers and be an advocate for better employee outcomes. Outside of the lab, he spends his time as the Vice President of the Buckeye Assembly of Men in Nursing, works as a PCA in the float pool of the Wexner Medical Center, and enjoys shadowing various medical specialties within the healthcare system.

 

Kaitlyn McHale joined the lab in Fall of 2024. She is a 2nd-year undergraduate student in the College of Nursing.  She is interested in various research areas such as health disparities, wellness, access to nutritional food, and the healthcare environment. She hopes to learn more about promoting health and well-being for healthcare personnel, specifically access to nutritional food to support their health. Outside of the lab, Kaitlyn participates in volunteer events and student organizations such as NSPIRE, BSNA, and Kappa Delta.

 

 

Maggie Rozelman joined the lab in Fall of 2023. She is interested in exploring research areas such as mental health disparities in lower income populations, sustainability in hospitals, and substance abuse and addiction. When she is not doing research, Maggie works as a student nursing assistant at the Wexner UH Medical ICU and participates in multiple student organizations such as Rally Cap Sports, NSPIRE, and is a volunteer tutor for The Education Project.
