As a result of the suspension of in-person courses at The Ohio State University, the publication of the Spring 2020 edition of the journal has been postponed. We are looking to finish and publish the journal in the fall of 2020, contingent on returning to campus to complete the journal. We will update all on the situation as it continues to develop. Submissions for the Spring 2020 Journal of Politics and International Affairs are no longer being accepted. If you would like to submit a paper to the journal after the January 31, 2020 deadline, it will be considered for publication in the Spring 2021 journal. Calling all OSU students who are interested in participating in an essay competition. The Journal of Politics and International Affairs is offering a $50 prize for three students who write an essay reflecting the prompt below. The Journal of Politics and International Affairs (JPIA) was created at Ohio State in 2006. The journal became inactive for a few years, but in 2011 a group of Ohio State students brought the journal back to life. Since 2011, the journal has been a valuable resource for undergraduate researchers, giving students the opportunity to have their papers published for a wider audience beyond the classroom.

The journal accepts a wide variety of paper submissions that can come from a variety of fields, including political science, public policy, economics, international studies, sociology and more.

Along with accepting submissions for the journal, we also serve as an organization that provides undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in the inner workings of the journal. This includes peer-reviewing and editing submissions, designing the layout of the journal and managing a staff of student editors.
