Hi! My name is Mia Jeter. I am a second year at the Ohio State University. I am majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in American Sign Language and am on the pre-med track. I am a Biological Sciences Scholar, Morrill Scholar, and LSAMP Scholar.
In high school, I was a part of National Honors Society, French National Honors Society, English National Honors Society, Science Olympiad, Yearbook Club, the Dive team, Marching Band and Citizens Advisory Committee. As chief editor of the yearbook, I promoted my fellow classmates to join the low-staffed club, picked the theme of the book, created the templates, designed the page ladder, hosted meetings and work days, as well as celebrated and ran National Yearbook Week for my entire school to enjoy. As senior captain of Science Olympiad, I scheduled and picked teams, making sure that each member had their best chances at placing. Throughout my time in high school, I have gained the ability to lead a small task force, enforce inclusion, advertise, and share my thoughts and opinions.
Now, I am one of the Community Engagement Chairs in a student org that I started my first year: Minority Collegiate Outreach and Support Team (MCOST). This club’s mission is to instill a positive input on seeking higher education for underrepresented high school students in the greater Columbus area. I am also a part of the OSU peer access line Buckeye PAL, where I answer calls to provide support and resources for OSU students.
I am an optimistic open-minded individual who strives for their goals. I enjoy solving mind-boggling puzzles and using abstract thought. On weekends, you can either find me making memories with my friends and family or in Hagerty Hall studying for my impending quiz.
I aspire to go onto med school focusing in the field of pediatrics.
