End-of-Year Reflection

My first year at Ohio State has been amazing. I absolutely love architecture and couldn’t be happier with all the friends I’ve made and people I’ve met. At first I wasn’t sure if architecture was for me but I’ve really grown to love the subject. During this spring semester, I worked on a project for Architecture Scholars. I decided to work on my organization skills and bought a planner to plan out each day. That’s exactly what I did for the rest of the semseter and it has really helped out with not only getting school work done on time, but developing good habits like working out.

Journal #3

During the spring semester, I’m deciding to work on time management. I will be making a rough daily schedule and keeping a planer to plan out each day. Each day will include a workout routine, my class schedule, homework time, and music time. I will also make sure that I get at least seven hours of sleep every night. The next two steps are to make a rough daily schedule for the next semester and to buy a planner. I will complete these two steps over break and will begin tracking my time when I come back to campus. I plan to continue with scholars as it’s brought nothing but friendship and happiness 🙂

Columbus To Do List #2

I thoroughly enjoyed the Columbus to do list project. Originally, I was reluctant on going to the Ohio State University because location was very important to me when choosing a college. I was under the impression that Columbus would be a boring city to live in after coming here so many times to visit my brothers while they were attending OSU. However, now that I’m living here, I’ve come to find that Columbus has a lot of hidden gems scattered throughout the city. The Columbus to do list was an awesome assignment because it has all these different hidden gems that without the list, would’ve taken me years to find and it handed them to me. I chose to go to 5 different coffee shops for my to do list items. I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere of coffee shops and decided of all the different themes on the list, I’d visit coffee shops the most. The five coffee shops I went to were Kafe Kerouac, Fox in the Snow Café, Mission Coffee, One Line Coffee, and Stauf’s Coffee. For most of the coffee shops, I went with Drake and Noah. I ordered coffee at each spot to compare who has the best cup of joe. Stauf’s Coffee won that battle by a long shot. Their coffee is on another level. I’ll probably visit Kafe Kerouac the most as they are the closest location and they have unlimited refills which is a big move. My favorite location however is Fox in the Snow café. I walked there from north campus with a friend of mine. We left our phones at home and it was just such a relaxing experience. The walk there took about forty minutes. The interior was really really cool and the outside seating was a closed in patio that was so relaxing to sit and talk in. The only thing is there’s no wifi there so I’m only gonna go there for no phone days or for a date. About a week after going to Kafe Kerouac and Fox in the Snow, Noah, Drake and I went to both One Line Coffee and Mission Coffee. One Line Coffee had good coffee and was a cool place but with how far it is, and how small it was, I don’t see myself going back in the near future. It was a little too cramped for studying. Mission Coffee had a really great studying environment but pretty weak coffee. It definitely took last place on my coffee list. I went back to Mission Coffee later that week to study with a friend and ordered a latte which was a whole lot better than their coffee so I’ll pry go back there to study sometime. I didn’t go to the Stauf’s in German Village because I always have their coffee after attending church on Sundays. I attend the Greek Orthodox Church so I always go to the North Market with friends after. Before I leave I’ll normally get a small coffee. They just opened up a new location in an old church on Neil which I’m going to check out this week. I’m really glad I had the chance to do this assignment and learn about all this unique places. Throughout the rest of the year I plan to do the entire to do list because I love the thought of knowing all these little places I could go with friends and/or family. I’d definitely recommend for other people to pick their favorite theme on the list and do all the activities. It’s been really rewarding to find all these different places I can go. Attached I have pictures of Noah, Drake and I at different coffee shops.
