My final design is a floor pillow that I hand crocheted the exterior of, its filling is made of fabric scraps from old clothing. The design on the top of the pillow is taken directly from the artwork I had previously made using my tool, also drawing further inspiration from the tool, it uses a spiral crochet pattern that is reminiscent of the motion that the tool had when it was in use.
The pattern is from Yarn and Chai, I altered it for my project, but it is a method that I was already aware of, I simply needed a refresher. I did not included the mosaic pattern that it mentions, just the base poof pattern which I then shortened into a pillow.
It is a base pattern for a technique called Smooth Circle Increasing in which it alternates the increase/decrease spots between rows of the top or bottom rounds. I also used a technique called Tapestry Crocheting which allowed me to switch between colors for the pattern on top.
Great job tying everything back to your tool! Had you previously done any crocheting before this project?
