Local Regulations

Regulations regarding the different types of markets, cottage foods and value added products, and food safety are managed primarily by county health departments, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

ODA, Division of Food Safety has an FAQ webpage that provides answers to a variety of questions, from how to sell food from home and to grocery stores to bakery requirements to regulations regarding the sales of eggs and meat in Ohio: https://agri.ohio.gov/divisions/food-safety/questions.
