The main fears I had before I began college were that I would be unable to have a good enough balance with school and extracurricular. However, as this year has progressed, I have learned how to properly balance both of these things. I was also afraid that I would not be able to hold the same academic level I had initially hoped for. This became apparent as I did not fully manage my time as well as I could have. As a result, I was unable to achieve quite as well as I had hoped for in many of my classes. However, I will continue to work hard as my year progresses, and hopefully I will be able to achieve above a 3.5, which was my goal at the beginning of the year. As far as the Humanities Scholars, I have greatly enjoyed my time with them so far. Unfortunately, due to my commitments as an Evans Scholar, and as a cross country runner, I have not been able to be as involved as I had initially wished for. However, I do look forward to having more time available for me to spend with the Humanities scholars in the coming years. As I continue on my OSU experience, I hope that I will have the ability to keep learning more and more each day about not only the subjects that interest me, but also about myself. If I am able to do this, I will have a greater confidence in myself, and I will be able to continue to achieve more and more. With the Humanities Scholars, I hope to gain more and more friendship, while being able to be involved in the many things going on within their community. In all, I have had a very fun and successful first semester at OSU, and I hope that I will be able to not only achieve the same level of success that I currently have, but that I will be able to do this while meeting new people and having new experiences.
