  • Description: Chopsticks are widely used throughout Asia, however, Japanese chopsticks have their own unique shape. China’s chopsticks are even in thickness while Japanese chopsticks vary in thickness. The ends of chopsticks may also vary in shape, from one end being tapered versus two ends being tapered or a rounded tip. Not only are there chopsticks used for regular meals but there are also some that are used for cooking (saibashi), for celebrations (iwaibashi), and for serving food (toribashi).
