 Ishinomaki

Ishinomaki city is in Miyagi Prefecture which experienced a devastated damage by a Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011.

The earthquake was recorded magnitude of 9.0 and tsunami reached up to 39 m (128 ft) and traveled 10 km (6 miles) inland from the coast. Tsunami also caused nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant due to a damage of cooling system.

Close to 20,000 people were killed and are missing from the incident and as of 2014, still 190,000 people are required to evacuate from the melt down of the nuclear power plant and lost of homes due to tsunami and earthquake.
