Assessment
Student assessment for the course will be based on acquiring 20 digital badges. Each badge is worth five points and represents mastery of a particular educational technology competency or completion of a course task. You will have various opportunities to show these competencies including working on student lead lessons, microteaching experiences, and educational media production.
You earn a badge by providing evidence through a page on your u.osu site. When you apply for a badge address how you have met each aspect of the listed competencies. The competencies are not meant to be absolute. Always provide direct evidence of competency whenever possible.
You may not be able to meet all of the requirements of a particular badge with the course activities. If that is the case then include a narrative you would go about meeting a particular competency. When you are ready to apply for a badge send me an email with the url to your badge, U.OSU page. Keep in mind that one activity may address more than one badge and that it may require more than one activity to address all the competencies of a badge. Depending on how you address the competencies for each badge you will receive 1-5 points upon earning a badge. You may resubmit a badge once for reconsideration.
