The Innovation in Vision and Eye-care Research Group (iVERG) team is dedicated to enhancing patient care and innovation in optometry practice through both industry and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Our research group, led by Dr. Jennifer Fogt, is comprised of Ohio State University College of Optometry faculty, graduate researchers, and staff.
If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, the following resources from the FDA’s website provide information about clinical research and what it is like to be a participant:
- What is clinical research?
- What are different types of clinical research? Our group most commonly operates Phase III trials, which are conducted to see how effective and safe a drug or treatment is.
- What is informed consent?
If you are interested in clinical research for an eye condition, please see our Enroll page. Check back frequently if you do not see a clinical trial that applies to you, as we continue to add projects and may have a future study that applies to you.
