Middle Fraser Canyon Archaeological Chronology

The Middle Fraser Canyon (MFC) is a region of the Interior Plateau that follows the Fraser river and includes both the river itself and the surrounding landforms, especially the hills nad valleys that lead down to the river valley. This region has been occupied in various forms and levels of intensification for thousands of years, partially in thanks to its relative abundance and includes some of the most famous archaeological sites that can be found on the Interior Plateau. The above graphic is a timeline that shows the different cultural traditions that have occupied the MFC over time and lists some of their characteristic features and identifying artifacts.

Below is a video that briefly outlines the chronology of the region and some of the forces behind the cultural changes that occurred.
