Planning, Part 1

You’ve identified an opportunity for a branching activity. Now, let’s plan!

Choosing your scenario

We recommend that you start your planning by thinking of the beginning and end first, leaving time to fill out the middle later on. This is to give yourself some boundaries right away so planning doesn’t get too confusing or out of control. You’ll likely find that if you just plan from top to bottom, it’ll be difficult to figure out where to end things along the way.

So, consider the following when you begin to plan your branching activity:

  • Think about your scenario/initial question
  • Think about final outcome for students (e.g., opportunity for reflection on leadership choices)
  • Develop endpoints

Note: Think ahead to how you would build this out in a learning management system or another tool, thinking of every possible landing spot as one page.
