We’re Pregnant! The First Time Dad’s Pregnancy Handbook by Adrian Kulp is a book on how to mentally prepare for pregnancy… for dads. As a father myself, I had no idea what to do when my wife was pregnant with our son. I didn’t know what or if we should talk about, should I go to the doctor appointments, or if I should read any of these books about pregnancy. Honestly, I was a shitty husband for not being involved. But I more than made up for it when it came to waking up in the middle of the night to feed, change, and much more.
With our second child on the way, I came across this book that helped teach me on some responsibilities that both parents should be aware of. Like ways to destress, fun activities, planning, how to love and care for each other and for your future baby, and much more. I highly recommend this book to any first time (or second time) dads who don’t know what they are doing.
Dads are sometimes a neglected group when it comes to pregnancies. This is mainly due to the lack of physiological change to them. Add the stress of being the one to stay at home when the baby arrives can really mess a woman up emotionally, mentally, and physically. Now let’s say that you and your partner agreed that because she has the better paying job, that you, the dad, will be taking care of the baby. Or let’s say you don’t know how to take care of your wife and child, thinking that all you need to do is change the occasional dirty diaper, and provide food for the family. Well I have a book for you.
We’re Parents! The New Dad Book for Baby’s First Year: Everything You Need to Know to Survive and Thrive Together by Adrian Kulp. Yes, the same one who wrote We’re Pregnant! The First Time Dad’s Pregnancy Handbook has another great book for new dads. This book is almost a step by step book on how to tackle any problem a baby can throw at (or up on) you.
Having a little one already, this book made me laugh at all the things I did wrong the first time. This book helps you communicate with your partner better and helps prepare on what is to come. Diapers are coming!
I highly recommend this book to any new fathers, mothers, and/or soon to be fathers and mothers. This book will tell you the tips and tricks on how to raise a baby. Keep in mind that every child is unique and will pose their own problems. You can’t be prepared for everything but might as well be prepared for most of it.
Super Nutrition for Babies by Katherine ErlichD. and Kelly Genzlinger C.N.C., C.M.T.A. is a lifesaver when it comes to nutrition for young ones. This book teaches you know what to feed your baby when, and how to feed them on a budget without having to give them junk food. Having one out and one in the oven, this book will help me a whole lot. This book I would recommend for anyone with an infant/toddler in the house. This book also talks about how the diet of the mother matters (especially for brestfeeding mothers) and how to improve that on a budget too. I’d give this book 5 stars on amazon.
