The Argo Mine, whose history of mining and environmental concerns, still remains on the Environmental Protection Agency’s superfund site list, thus the heavy metals that were abundant on the mining sites may still be present, even after current cleanup processes. In addition, the Argo Mill as well as the Argo Mining tunnel is currently a tourist attraction, thus the tourists who choose to visit the mill may be subjecting themselves to the possible exposure of heavy metals, possibly unknowingly. As a result, if you would like to learn more about the superfund status of Clear Creek and the Argo mine and tunnel, there are links listed below. Furthermore, if you would like to get in contact with any government officials who are related to the cleanup of the site, or officials who currently run the Argo tourist attraction, their contact information is also listed below.
