Spring 2018 was another successful semester for the ICMA Student Chapter at Ohio State University. We are thankful to our student chapter members for being engaged and eager to learn more about becoming local government leaders.
The Ohio City/County Management Association Winter Conference held from March 7th thru 9th in downtown Columbus was highlighted by a student networking dinner with OCMA and ICMA leaders. It was an excellent opportunity for students to sit down with local government professionals in a casual setting to learn more about local government leadership. Additionally, the three day conference was full of informative sessions, highlighted with the keynote presented by Ron Holifield, Founder and CEO of Strategic Government Resources about creating an authentic servant leadership culture.
The Student Chapter also participated in a tour of the City of Dublin’s Bridge Park district on Friday, April 13th. The Chapter was given a presentation about the development of the district by Dublin leaders including City Manager Dana McDaniel, Finance Director Angel Mumma, and Economic Development Administrator Kyle Kridler. This was followed by a guided tour by representatives of Crawford Hoying, the developer of Bridge Park. Afterwards, students enjoyed a casual networking dinner with other students and city leaders.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the ICMA Student Chapter this Spring!
