Collage Part 2

Like in the first collage there is a lot of German influence and things concerning my education in Plant Pathology and my goal of working overseas. There are aspects of German culture, hints of class work and OSU symbols, and many other things that are similar to the first collage. The bees are still there and the roses, but I gave them human traits to add to the dream like quality of the piece and uses different values and line making techniques to add visual interest.

  1. I am interested in how you translated your last drawing to this! I think this is a great demonstration of how you can find something unexpected to draw through the process of translation from collage. I wonder if you would ever consider drawing this scene if you had not made the collage? Now that you have completed this one, what would you add or change to your next drawing from this translation? You might even get more surreal, introduce new objects and characters into the landscape, or change the ones you already put in there to find a story you want to tell!

There is some stray from observational drawing and into cartooning here. I wonder if you have looked at cartoons or are interested in them? If you do not know already OSU has an amazing and unique cartoon library! There are a lot of online resources you might check out: https://cartoons.osu.edu/

    1. I’ve always doodled plants and plant people. Especially mushrooms 🍄 next drawing I’d probably add more of the shroom people doing odd things all over the place.
