Healthy New Albany

Healthy New Albany is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating and promoting a culture of health for all members of our community. Our vision is to enrich the well-being of our community through health promotion, education, engagement and partnership. Community well-being is the heart of our work. The value of Healthy New Albany’s work lies within its service lines which include: The New Albany Food Pantry, Farmers Market, Community Garden, Community Health Programming, Accredited School of Yoga, Senior Connections and Community Races including our hallmark event, the New Albany Walking Classic, entering its 17th year. All programs are funded by our generous donors and our races.

The Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany is comprised of partners in the building including Healthy New Albany, the OSU Health and Fitness Center, OSU Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Experiences in the Fitness Center include:

  • Worksite wellness with onsite and offsite programming

AccelWELL

AccelWELL capitalizes on Culture to take a health promotion program to an entirely new level. The only way to sustain a wellness program is through the AccelWELL difference and building an unbreakable culture. Students who choose AccelWELL as their practicum experience will engage in health promotion through the lens of the workplace. Some of the experiences will include

  • administrative support for the client portal and app
  • customer service regarding the portal
  • workshop content development
  • client visits
  • shadow health coaching
  • program development
  • lunch-n-learn content development
  • program evaluation
  • marketing experiences (i.e. social media)
  • assist with incentive campaigns – tracking points, rewards

Ohio Health – employee wellness program

OhioHealth provides a comprehensive strategy for businesses in the Central Ohio area. Services include injury prevention, worksite wellness and onsite clinic customization. Students who choose Ohio Health employer services as their practicum experience will engage in health promotion through the lens of a vendor providing wellness in the workplace. Buckeye Wellness

The Buckeye Wellness team is directed by Chief Wellness Officer and Dean of the College of Nursing Bernadette Melnyk. Buckeye Wellness is part of the campus-wide health and wellness initiative striving to create a culture of wellness for all faculty, staff and students to make Ohio State the healthiest campus in the world! Students who choose Buckeye Wellness as their practicum experience will engage in health promotion through the lens of the workplace and academic institution. Some of the experiences will include
