Professional Development Opportunities

There are a variety of professional development opportunities available to University employees.  There are self-directed learning opportunities and face-to-face opportunities.

The self-directed opportunities are through Carem, the university’s course management and training system.

To access the training, you will need your name.# username and password. If you do not have a name.# username and password you can create them at the Ohio State Internet Username web site.

Instructions for enrolling in HR training in Carmen

  • Log in to Carmen
  • On your home page, click Join in the navigation bar.
  • The instructions page displays. Click on the Join link.
  • Select the desired course from the list.
  • Click Register to enroll.
  • Fill in the registration information and Submit.
  • Click Finish.
