Ann Marie Hulver

I am currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the School of Earth Sciences division of Water, Climate, and the Environment at The Ohio State University. I am working in Professor Andréa Grottoli’s Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry Lab. I am currently leading two projects: ground-truthing of GoPro photogrammetry and the effects of increased zooplankton concentrations on growth of nursery corals in Florida.

I graduated with my PhD from Dr. Grottoli’s lab in August 2024 where I studied the effects ocean warming and acidification on coral physiology and the ability of resilient corals to acclimatize to long-term exposure to future conditions. We found that coral feeding is especially important for coral under both ocean warming and acidification.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology from Northeastern University and my Masters of Science in Marine Science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology where I worked with Dr. Michael Berumen in the Red Sea Research Center.
