Goals Statement

Global awareness is an essential part of being a responsible citizen. There is so much we can learn about others and ourselves when we take the opportunity to see the world from others point of view. I have an extreme desire to explore other cultures and travel as much as possible. Study abroad would be a great opportunity that would perfectly align with my interests. The ability to both enrich my educational knowledge while also enriching me as a person is a life changing opportunity.  I strongly intend to look into study abroad programs in the very near future. My dream locations would be Greece or Belize, but anywhere in the world can provide its own experiences and opportunities  as long as you are looking for them!

Original Inquiry is what drives us both as academics and as people in general. I would love to get into research in the future. I find research into paralysis both fascinating and potentially rewarding. The brain and its neural connections are endlessly intuitive and awe inspiring. As an active individual I cant imagine not being able to move and go out and do whatever I want so study into the reversal of paralysis is something I would find so rewarding and worth all the work.

My academic enrichment revolves around my fascination with the body’s nervous system. This interest is what made the neuroscience major a perfect choice for me. I have dreams of being a surgeon in the future and I know OSU has the courses and staff that are able to get me there. All of the psychology classes I am currently taking are both fascinating and enriching at the same time.

My leadership skills are hopefully going to be developed through positions in clubs. One club I am really interested in becoming involved in right now is UNICEF. I really love children and working with kids would be a dream. As a pre medicine student, any club focused on health would obviously be a great fit for me so UNICEF truly is the perfect club for me to spend my time working with. As a leader in the community, I hopefully would be able to make a difference in the lives of children.

Service is an integral part of all active students lives. As discussed earlier I hope to be able to do service in the Columbus area revolved around children. I plan to actively look for opportunities to volunteer at schools, hospitals, soup kitchens, or anywhere that I would be able to help anyone in need.
