Many students worry that without an associated certification, they will struggle to find employment after graduation.  Here are a list of the types of jobs students may obtain with a Health Sciences or Medical Laboratory Sciences – Medical Science degree.


Position: Risk Management Coordinator

Employer: Memorial Health

Sample Duties: Process occurrence reports of events that occur within the hospital; track and trend events to seek opportunities to minimize risk and implement process improvements.  Perform root-cause analysis. Organize patient safety awareness events that can impact positive change.


Position: Senior Intern

Employer: Medpace (a global Contract Research Organization)

Sample Duties: Follow tasks as assigned by management, attend training sessions.  Work with pharmaceutical companies, investigative sites, & the FDA to monitor clinical trials and data.


Position: Program Leader or Counselor

Employer: Recreation Unlimited

Sample Duties: Facilitate safe, fun, and challenging programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns so that they have a rewarding and successful camp experience.


Position: Life Enrichment Manager

Employer: Sunrise Assisted Living

Sample Duties: The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for consistently engaging residents in familiar routines of daily living through personalized Life Skills that “Create Pleasant Days” for residents.


Position: Case Manager

Employer: North Central Mental Health Services

Sample Duties: Understand the principles of recovery from mental illness and be prepared to assist persons served in achieving and maintaining recovery that is based upon personal strengths.


Position: Territory Manager

Employer: Luitpold Pharmaceuticals

Sample Duties: Build relationships with our customer base and key opinion leaders by personally visiting them, educating and influencing physicians and healthcare providers to prescribe American Regent promoted products. Communicate products approved indications,advantages, features and benefits in both individual and group settings.


Position: Clinical Research Program Coordinator

Employer: Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Sample Duties: Primary responsibility is the overall administrative coordination and management of the Sub Sites for department/center’s research portfolio and management of the research being conducted by the NEXT Consortium.  The Clinical Research Program Coordinator coordinates subcontracts with other sites and the Sponsored Projects Office, develops and implements processes across multiple study sites and maintains documents to ensure effective, efficient and compliant project progress.


Position: Income Development Coordinator

Employer: American Cancer Society

Sample Duties: Introduce and educate individuals to utilize the services that were available through the American Cancer Society.  Build relationships with schools, hospitals, businesses and individuals for involvement in fundraising events.  Introduce health promotion initiatives by conducting presentations to certain organizations.
