Buckeyes Forward Mentoring Program will connect Ohio State undergraduate and Graduate/ Professional students with alumni and community mentors to help students prepare for and propel forward to their future endeavors.
The goal of Buckeyes Forward is to provide Ohio State students with a formal, structured support system that is designed to foster a sense of inclusion and belonging while contributing to students’ personal and professional development. This mentoring program will focus on the next step after graduation, in the individual student’s plan, whether that be continuing their education and earning an advanced degree or beginning a career. By participating in the program, we hope to contribute to students’ personal, professional, and academic development and to provide mentors with a sense of purpose and connection to the Buckeye community.

I wanted to let you know about an opportunity for students for the fall semester. I typically run a 10 week motor group at a Columbus preschool – which sadly was on hold last school year – for typically developing students and children being identified. The group will meet on Wednesday mornings this school year, 8:50-11:30 am, from Oct 6 thru Dec 15 (with the Wednesday before Thanksgiving usually off), and I can accommodate 4-5 students. The internship will be close to 40 hours in total (or possibly more!). I would need a commitment for the entire 3 months, plus an orientation session prior to the start date. Students interested in pediatric OT or PT are welcome to apply!

Given the current pandemic, all of our meetings and events have been virtual but we hope to engage our community with in-person meetings this fall. This past year, we carried out formal events that consist of salary negotiation workshops, documentary screenings, guest speakers, wellness activities, and more! The AAUW community is a group of empowered women here to support you during your time at Ohio State and beyond.
