Personal Caregiver Needed

For Young Man

I am looking for a caregiver to provide help in our home for a 50-year old male with a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). John is very social, with a great sense of humor and is cognitively normal. He uses a wheelchair. Although he cannot walk or stand independently, he can bare weight for pivot transfers with caregiver support. This job provides invaluable experience for those considering a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy or nursing.

Location:  Dublin – Northwest suburb of Columbus ( near Avery and Muirfield  Rds)

Job Description: Assist a person with a physical disability with daily living activities, including

• Pivot transfer between wheelchair and bed, toilet, stander
• Personal hygiene, including showering, dressing, grooming
• Physical and occupational therapy home program, including range of motion
• Assistance with leisure activities
• Meal preparation, clean-up and assistance with eating
• Involvement in community activities for recreation
• Laundry

Qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Responsible, dependable and caring
• Non-smoker
• Willing to become a waiver provider through Ohio’s Waiver system. Guidance on the steps to become a provider is available.

Hours Needed:

Tus, Thur, Sat 8:30am to 2:30 pm

We generally have had OSU students in the past and are willing to accommodate their changing schedules.

Pay: $24.28/hour
