Join Pelotonia this year as a member of the College of Medicine student team, Spin Doctors!
Hello pre-med/pre-health students!
My name is Ken Okoye and I’m a current 5th year in the OSU MD/PhD program. I want to tell you about an opportunity to participate in Pelotonia this year as a member of the College of Medicine student team, Spin Doctors!
What is Pelotonia? The first weekend of August every year, the OSUCCC-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, OSU, and Columbus welcome cyclists from all over the world for a weekend of riding, entertainment, and volunteerism. Participants can register as early as February and pledge to raise money for researchers at OSU through student fellowships and Idea Grants.
As an at least half-time student, you will be eligible to ride Pelotonia on a Team Buckeye OSU student peloton this year with steep registration commitment discounts. The College of Medicine peloton this year is looking to cultivate undergraduate membership as well and so that’s why we’re emailing you too! Think of it as a way to interact with current students and relentlessly pick their brains *while* raising funds for a worthy cause!
I know it’s short notice but if you’re free on February 21, come learn about what it means to ride, as well as the other ways you can help out the team this year at our intro meeting, like first-aid and logistics/planning, or how to get involved in leadership for next year! **NO BIKE OR RIDING REQUIRED** It’ll be in 1063 Graves Hall at 12 -1p. We’ll feed you!
RSVP using this link. Even if you can’t make the meeting but are interested in joining our team, leave your email on the list and we’ll keep you in the loop.
Thanks for reading, we hope you’ll consider joining us!
