Volunteer role with the Student Life Student Wellness Center
The Student Life Student Wellness Center is currently accepting applications for our BASICS volunteer position. This opportunity is available to both graduate and undergraduate students.
This role will perform one-on-one educational intervention services to students through BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening & Intervention for College Students). This volunteer position directly supports the university goal of reducing risky behaviors and harmful consequences of alcohol abuse. These evidence-based interventions are deeply rooted in motivational interviewing. The qualified candidate will receive all required education and training to provide one-on-one coaching that promote a harm-reduction approach for students using alcohol. Previous coaching experience is not necessary. Volunteers will be available a minimum of 5 hours per week for two consecutive semesters.
