Artifact #2

The item that I have chosen for my 2nd artifact is a face mask. When I think of the defining part of my autumn semester, nothing is more unique then the COVID-19 pandemic. For me, the face mask represents so much more. The face mask is what allows us to be back and do the things we love. Although we are limited in what we may do, the face mask allows us to be free in such a chaotic time. Life is never something completely smooth, there are always rough patches. However, there is always a “face mask” out there for us to make things better. The face mask is a coping mechanism, but everyone has to find their own “face mask” for every situation that gets thrown their way.

RESEARCH:

Ever since Summer 2019 I have been very interested in research. That summer I completed an internship at Kent State University in the Geology Department. There, I got to work in the lab and in the field. I tested and prepped soil samples and collected water samples from an abandoned mine nearby. While I haven’t had much experience yet, I hope to continue this throughout college and for the rest of my life! I love learning new things, especially if I can apply what I have learned to helping people.
