My First Week at OSU

Looking back on my first week at OSU, I have already had some amazing experiences with some amazing people. First, I immediately felt at home during move-in since all of the upperclassmen helping to get us settled we’re so friendly. Welcome Week continued with such fun events as the involvement fair, to which I went with my friends. We visited tables all across the Oval and the South Oval, and we got snacks and lunch. I really enjoyed having the chance to see what groups and clubs are on campus in a friendly environment.
However, I did have a couple of moments of panic since I have never been this far from home without my family. It is good for me to be on my own so that I can learn to be more independent, but I was a little worried by the amount of homework I had received in the first week alone. Even so, I have already begun forming a routine and my stress is decreasing.
I imagined coming to OSU would be too difficult, and that I would feel alone, but I have found my experience here to be quite the opposite. I have already found wonderful friends, and the classes are challenging, but I can handle the workload. If my first two weeks at OSU are indicative of how the rest of the year will be, I think I will truly enjoy my time here.
