Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

One of the pinnacles of GOALS is Leadership Development. Before I went to OSU, I played tennis on my High School team. My senior year, I was the captain of the team. When needed guidance on proper form and etiquette, I exhibited the correct technique. I also helped the coach plan team activities, create the new uniforms, and run practices. During college, I also want to hold a leadership position. I will most likely do this through any future club I join. My ultimate goal is to be the president of a club.

Another pinnacle that I intent to focus my efforts in is Academic Enrichment. I always enjoyed learning new things. This allowed me to stay motivated throughout my education and effectively learn new information. Because of this, I am currently taking MATH 1161 which allows me to solidify my knowledge of basic concepts in Calculus as well as learn something new later on in the semester. Also, I intent to continue this motivation during college through research and by taking more rigorous classes.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. The above attachment contains a slide show about Solar Roads and their importance to solving the inevitable energy crisis. It explains their inner workings as well as their possibilities in the future and how they will benefit the world. They provide any extremely green way of reaching the worlds increasing energy needs, are extremely safe, and may become a lard piece of our infrastructure. They have the capabilities to run entire cities and eventually, probably the world.

About Me

Hello,

My name is Robert Hoffman. I am from Avon Lake, Ohio.  I am a freshman at The Ohio State University and am currently studying Computer Science and Engineering. I play club tennis and also enjoy soccer and playing many different types of card games. I was inspired to study CSE because I have always liked computers and coding since I took my first programming class in High School. Although I really enjoy programming, I am also fascinated by the hardware of computers. After I complete my Bachelors Degree, I want to continue my education and possibly attain a Graduate Degree.
