One element of the synopsis, I’d question: did the scene suggesting she married Prof. Bhaer and started a school happen or was that the fictional scene that ended the novel? I think the ending is in fact a sly presentation of Alcott’s own life–in which she did not marry–juxtaposed with the fictional LW and its ending, which reflected the publisher’s wishes.
